Recovery in floorball: sleep, fatigue and how to come back stronger
Training is only a stimulus. Real improvement happens afterwards — when you sleep, eat and rest. Skip recovery and the hard work turns against you.
Supercompensation in one sentence
After a load the body is briefly weaker. Give it the right time to recover and it comes back stronger than before. Pile on another hard session before it recovers and you go down. The whole art of form is hitting that timing — and for that you need to see where your recovery stands.
Sleep is the cheapest supplement
No gel or powder replaces sleep. During it muscles repair, what you learned in training is stored and the nervous system resets. The goal is sleep that’s long enough and good quality — both can be tracked and both show up in performance the next day.
Fatigue you need to read
Fatigue isn’t the enemy — it’s information. Short-term fatigue after a load is part of the deal. The problem is fatigue that accumulates week after week. When you log it, the trend shows whether you’re going sustainably or heading into overtraining.
Active vs. passive rest
A rest day doesn’t mean lying down. Light activity — a jog, mobility, stretching — often speeds recovery more than the couch. Sport Coach in the app gives you specific compensatory exercises made for your sport.
How to keep recovery in check
Track three things: sleep, fatigue and how much you’ve piled on. NEXT8 combines them into one picture and calculates training load — so you know when it’s a day to grind and when to recover. Form isn’t about training more, but training smart.
